Footers are Being Set - Day 12
We are so fortunate to have our friend Eric helping us with our project. Nick and Eric have been very busy the past two days working on our footers.
This is one of the most important phases of the project... setting a good foundation. Building a solid base is essential for growth and sustainability. Sounds like I am at work... always preaching about the importance of a good foundation.
The days have been hot and long. Ridg has been taking it easy but is still looking over the project.
The celebration continues, our dearest friend MonkE brought a bottle of champagne over to toast the first FULL day of work for Nick and Eric. I have a feeling we will be celebrating every little milestone with this bunch. Bill, Peter, and of course Chili (MonkE's dog) joined us.
Views from the Property
It may be a small lot but man the views are incredible.

Well... it is official Nick and Johanna have broken ground on their property. Ridg approved the inspection of the backhoe.

Blessing of the Land
DAY 1: July 7, 2010
Our dear friends Bill and Beth insisted (with great delight) to bless our land before we broke ground. We are so lucky to have friends like Bill and Beth.
The ceremony was short and sweet but essential to our upcoming journey. Bill hung prayer flags which were blessed in Nepal. These flags have great symbolism. They were blessed for their beloved friend, George, who is actually a beloved friend to all who live in Ridgway. Nick and I were not as fortunate as many here in Ridgway who knew George well. We only met him on a few occasions, however, we have heard many amazing stories about his love of life and adventure.
Nick and I broke ground together, aw... how cute!
We are so lucky to have friends & neighbors like Bill and Beth. We are even luckier that Nick's dad and his step mom, Von, were here to share this experience with some.
